What your fee covers

From assessment to the next steps in your care

Two visits and a written outcome

Your assessment includes the interview, questionnaires, feedback and a written outcome, whether or not ADHD is diagnosed. Feedback is bulk-billed for eligible patients and may be in person, by telephone or by video.

Support when starting medication

If medication is appropriate, initiation is covered by the assessment fee. Three weekly titration calls by phone are bulk-billed for eligible patients, helping your doctor review how treatment is going.

Ongoing GP care

For suitable patients, Dr Jas Saini can remain involved after assessment. The practice provides regular reviews and keeps your usual GP informed. Specialist input or shared care may be recommended when needed.

Assessment does not guarantee an ADHD diagnosis or prescription. Treatment and review timing depend on your clinical needs. My ADHD GP is part of Rosedale Medical Practice, a GP-owned, AGPAL-accredited practice established in 1997.

Our usual assessment and treatment pathway

3 bulk-billed calls for eligible patients
  3. Month 1 after starting

    Your first paid review

Review treatment and check blood pressure and heart rate. An in-person visit is preferred; local GP or pharmacy observations can be shared with Dr Saini.

    Review your ongoing plan

Another review, then usually every six months, adjusted to clinical needs. Suitable later reviews may be by video or telephone.

Standard eligible benefits$298.00

How the Medicare estimate is calculated

The first in-person assessment visit uses item 123, with a current standard benefit of $207.90. Each standard 15-minute paid review uses the appropriate Level B item: 23 in person, 91800 by video or 91891 by telephone, each currently listing a $45.05 benefit. The feedback visit and three weekly phone titration calls are bulk-billed for eligible patients and add no patient gap. Actual billing depends on the service, duration and eligibility.

Medication and other costs to allow for

There are no additional practice charges currently listed for the standard assessment, questionnaires, written outcome or included initiation. Medication is purchased separately from your pharmacy at its own prices.

Investigations, where clinically indicated, are generally bulk-billed by 4Cyte Pathology, including ECG, blood tests and urine drug screening. Confirm eligibility and any charge with the provider. A local GP or pharmacy may charge for taking blood pressure and heart rate observations.

Questions about fees and the right pathway

What if the assessment does not diagnose ADHD?

The fee pays for the assessment and a written outcome, whatever the finding. Your doctor explains the result and next steps. A diagnosis or prescription is not guaranteed.

Do I pay separately to start medication after your assessment?

Medication initiation is included where clinically appropriate. The three weekly phone titration calls are bulk-billed for eligible patients. Paid reviews usually begin at month 1 after starting medication. The medication itself is purchased from your pharmacy.

What if I already have an ADHD diagnosis?

You may need a different appointment rather than a new assessment. See our starting-treatment, restart and continuation-care pathways. The separately priced initiation appointment for an existing external diagnosis is not added to the adult assessment pathway above.

Who assesses children and teenagers?

Our psychologist Niro Wanigatunga assesses ages 6–17. Adult assessments for ages 18+ are with Dr Jas Saini. A psychologist’s report does not include prescribing; medication care requires an appropriately authorised doctor. See our child/adolescent assessment fee.

Are there other lower-cost or funded options?

Ask your usual GP about locally funded or concession pathways. NSW Health describes a limited funded GP assessment program planned from early 2027; eligibility and availability apply. See current NSW consumer guidance. A Mental Health Treatment Plan does not automatically rebate a complete diagnostic package.

Sources, ownership and updates

My ADHD GP owns this page and offers paid care. Rosedale Medical Practice and My ADHD GP are the same service. Our inclusions and schedule were confirmed by Dr Jas Saini on 8 October 2026; standard benefits were checked against the official MBS. Other providers’ observations come from the published pages linked in their rows.

We have not contacted the other providers, verified invoices, completed booking checkout or confirmed appointment availability. Direct fees and calculated sums are distinguished; unknown stages remain unknown.
